Laxive Lite is effervescent, sugar-free and comes in a tangy orange flavor.

Isapgol (3.5g), the only ingredient of Laxive-Lite, is a well-known bulk forming laxative. Its property of swelling up by absorbing water turns it into a bulk, which is not digestible and is not, absorbed by the intestine. This bulk of indigestible residue provides the mechanical stimuli for evacuation. Isapgol is also demulcent (soothing) and lubricant (sub. used to reduce friction) to intestinal mucosa; hence promotes an easy and painless defecation.

Laxive Lite is used in the treatment of constipation, in diverticular diseases, irritable bowel syndrome, and when excessive straining at stool must be avoided, for e.g. following anorectal surgery or in the management of hemorrhoids. The ability to absorb water and increase faecal mass means that it may also be used in the management of diarrhoea.
